In the past five years Leicester web design company Gaijin Design has provided solutions for EMI, Virgin, Universal, The Red Cross and Blogger, as well as numerous businesses, large and small, local, national and international. We really really believe in what we're doing, and we stay up until 3am doing it because we love it so much.

We will not submit your site to one hundred million search engines. We will not claim that your hits will increase by four thousand percent, or that your site will be the first result on Google for 'awesome'. Atomic Kitten:

A high-energy game for Atomic Kitten's official website to help promote their latest album. Virgin Records required something that would appeal directly to Atomic Kitten's key demographic audience and keep them coming back. From conception, through development to completion, the game was released in two weeks.

Shelby Lynne:

EMI required a Flash microsite to promote the UK release of Shelby Lynne's album 'Identity Crisis'. Based on artwork from the album, we turned the microsite around in just two days, right on time for the album launch.

Blogger:

In response to Blogger's request for new and interesting developments for users of their amazingly popular system, we wrote a series of tutorials for designing a dynamic Flash interface to load a weblog into. Now one of the singularly most popular topics in Blogger's help archives, we also received special mention from DesignIsKinky.net.

GridGear:

An online e-commerce catalogue for GridGear, providers of Motorsports accessories based in Leicestershire. Built entirely in Actinic Catalog v6 to compliment their new print catalogue, GridGear is one of the only Actinic-based online stores in the world to use a dynamic Flash-based system. The site is managed by GridGear themselves from a home computer, making product updates and sales an absolute doddle.

PrintInternet:

Flash and PHP site to allow Leicester printing company PrintInternet to carry out complete orders online; from submitting the artwork, to ordering the exact print style, to online billing. All credit card orders are processed securely via the one-stop print ordering system while artwork is automatically updated for PrintInternet to download and process. Since this site went live, almost all of their business is now done online.

Speed Or Safety:

A dynamic new site for Leicestershire County Council's Safety Camera Scheme. Features a Flash media player to show their latest radio and TV adverts, interactive games highlighting the dangers of speeding and a database system for showing up-to-the-minute mobile camera positions. Air Plants:

A new clean-look corporate site for Leicester-based company Air Plants, leaders in dust extraction, wood waste and fume management. As well as a complete rebuild of their website and two smaller subsidiary sites, one-on-one tutorials were given to executives so they could easily update the site. Scott's of Cambridge:

A stylish new site for professional Cambridge wedding and portrait photographer Scott Gilbert. Chic and modish to reflect Scott's photographic style, we also coded a custom dynamic image gallery for easy maintenance so that Scott can keep his portfolio up to date.

Pro Active:

Pro Active Accounting in Leicester needed a broadcast-quality advert capable of putting across a lot of information in a short space of time, on a tight deadline. We designed a 30-second commerical that focused on the key points without distracting from the finer points of their services.

Her Name is Calla:

A rich and sumptuous Victorian-era Flash site for Her Name is Calla. Every element of the site was drawn by hand, with a band journal and show diary for the band to keep regular updates, a streaming MP3 player, dynamic guestbook and more than a few secrets.

Zil:

An abstract site for new-wave disco futurists Zil. Using only four colours and with and ethos that the listener must 'work hard for it', this side-scrolling Flash behemoth features dynamic MP3 and video streaming and a guestbook that can be amended by Zil for propaganda purposes.

Magnetic North:

Specific product and overall company demos developed for telecom systems company Magnetic North, these demos were used online for product promotion and for demo stands at corporate expos. A total of seven minutes (or 12,500 frames) of hand-drawn Flash animation, all of these demos were also repackaged as promotional screensavers.

Speed Camera Locations:

An interactive CD-ROM produced for eight county authorities in the East and West Midlands to promote road safety and awareness. As well as identity branding, interface and content design, dynamic mapping was created for each county showing the locations of over 1,100 speed cameras. The entire project was turned around in two weeks and 64,000 CDs were handed out at the NEC Motorshow. A follow-up CD with updated mapping and branding was produced for the Motorbike Show in the Autumn.

OCB Medical:

280 still drawings, medical animations and voice-over montages were produced for OCB's educational CD-ROM 'Clinical Cardiology' in partnership with the Leicester Royal Infirmary. Aimed at medical students, GPs and consultant cardiologists, the CD set a new standard for medical education resources.

Nell Bryden / Empathy Records

New York singer/songwriter Nell Bryden needed a more up-to-date online presence that not only promoted her latest album, but that put her firmly in control of her site. Utilising easy-to-use content management Nell is able to publish a diary and her latest tour dates, as well as stream her latest tracks and make them available to purchase online.

Daisy B

Management for young acoustic star Daisy B wanted a site that was easy to update & manage and easily expandable to incorporate new features as Daisy's career takes off. Features an easy content management system and intelligent online MP3 streaming, allowing Daisy to upload her latest tracks for her fans.

Advanced Electrical Services

Established Leicester electrical contractors AES required an eye-catching site to promote their services to an ever-increasing online customer base. Updating their company branding was the first order of business, followed by developing a custom icon set for the site to represent their different services, giving it an altogether more appealing graphical interface.

Ensygn

Construction specialists Ensygn realised that, lacking any kind of online presence whatsoever, they were actually losing potential business. We quickly amended the situation, providing Ensygn with a polished and professional site extolling their various services to local clients in Leicester and nationally via a neat and easy-to-navigate interface. Chesterton Sports Centre

A recently-developed Cambridgeshire-based sports centre with the very latest in cardiovascular fitness equipment, a brand-new swimming pool and regime of fitness classes required a site to promote this new facility and its services. As well as designing and coding the site by hand, we also provided on-site training so it could be updated by staff.

Desi Masti Dance Academy

Desi Masti is one of the country's foremost Bollywood dance academies, not only providing Indian dance classes but performing all over the world. Desi Masti needed a complete overhaul for their dated site, providing updateable information about the dance classes in Leicester as well as images and streaming video online for their spectacular performances.

Speed Awareness Workshops

The Speed Awareness courses are run in Leicestershire and Rutland as an alternative for people caught speeding instead of receiving penalty points on their license. A small, concise microsite was required to promote the benefits of this course and to make people aware of its content.

Preschooler Software

Datamove Software in Loughborough needed a site to promote the latest version of their specialised nursery management software Preschooler. Attractive, informative and concise, the site offers an easy way to order the software and pay securely online, as well as offering online demos and tutorials that can be updated by Datamove.

The Crash Factory

New commercial recording studio The Crash Factory wanted a site that would promote their brand-new facility in the Lace Market in the centre of Nottingham. The site was commissioned before the studio was built so they could show a 'studio build diary'. On-site training was provided in basic HTML so they could update the site as needed, including special studio offers.

Leicester Landscape Centre

One of Gaijin Design's first-ever commercial projects, Creative Gardens in Leicester are a small local business providing impressive landscape gardening services. A small, informative site was needed to promote their services and to act as a dynamic showcase for completed lanscaping projects.

A telecommuncations comany required a stand-alone touchscreen for their business premises to help impress potential customers. Incorporating a dynamic slideshow and five promotional videos as well as a customisable welcome screen, the whole project was turned around in just two weeks.
